The Tourism Assistant will play a key role in promoting tourism in Elgin County, specifically Port Stanley. The successful candidate will provide exceptional customer service to visitors, ensuring they have accurate and engaging information about local activities, events, and attractions. This role requires self-motivation, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently following the training period.

Hours of Work:      Approx. 35 hours per week – hours will vary including weekends

Effective:                May 15, 2025 to August 31, 2025 (*Subject to Grant Approval*)

Salary:                   Minimum Wage

Qualifications:

  • Must have own transportation with a valid class ‘G’ driver’s license and clear Ontario Driver Abstract.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in computer software, including word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions regarding the daily operations of the Visitor Centre.
  • Currently enrolled or a recent graduate of post-secondary education (Business, Marketing, Tourism, or a related field preferred).
  • Previous customer service or tourism-related experience is an asset.
